So greatful to be able to see one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. I brought back incredible pictures to capture the beautiful colors and patterns that were created by the horticulturists that make this such a special place. These pictures are from my phone but there are lots more from my camera.

I went to the Rijksmuseum at 9:00 a.m. (tip!) and headed straight to the second floor to see the masterpieces, such as *The Night Watch* and *The Milkmaid*. You can easily follow the audio tour on your phone. There’s a lot to see, so be sure to set aside at least 2.5 hours. Afterward, relax for a bit in the beautiful garden.
In the afternoon, I went to the Moco Museum, just a stone’s throw from the Rijksmuseum.
This completed my journey through art history (from 1000 to 2000)! You’ll be done with the Moco Museum faster; without a combo ticket, I wasn’t willing to pay the regular admission price for it.
It was very impressive to see the paintings up close and recognize the brushstrokes of the Dutch masters. At the Moco Museum, you’ll see many reproductions, though the stories behind the artworks are fascinating.

It was just wow…
I never expected a museum to be so impressive.
From the moment you step inside, you feel the scale of it all—the huge halls, the lighting, the architecture; everything looks like a true work of art. The building itself is reason enough to visit.
Each hall is like a journey through time. The paintings, the details, the lighting—everything is so vivid that sometimes it feels like you’re right inside those scenes. The works of the great artists are especially impressive—you can literally feel their energy.
And another thing: you don’t just look at the paintings there; you really feel the history. The museum houses thousands of works of art and reveals the true soul of the Netherlands across the centuries.
I really loved the atmosphere—calm, beautiful, inspiring. You can walk around for hours and not even notice how time flies.
If you’re in Amsterdam, this is a must-visit.
I left feeling like I’d touched something truly great ❤️

I’ll be honest — I walked into Moco Museum with fairly low expectations. Another trendy art spot trying to ride the wave of Instagram aesthetics? I was wrong, and I’m glad I was.
From the moment you step into Villa Alsberg — a gorgeous 1904 townhouse right on Museumplein — the contrast between the classic architecture and the bold, rebellious art inside sets the tone perfectly. It feels intentional, almost playful, as if the museum itself is winking at you.
The Banksy collection alone is worth the entry. Seeing Girl with Balloon, Flower Thrower, and Laugh Now up close — not on a screen, not on a wall somewhere in the city, but right there in front of you — hit differently than I expected. These aren’t just “cool images.” In person, they carry real weight.
But what surprised me most was how well the curators balanced the permanent collection with the rest of the space. The flow from room to room felt natural, never overwhelming. Each space had its own personality, and the immersive elements kept things dynamic without feeling gimmicky.
The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, and the audio guide added real depth to the experience. I ended up spending nearly two hours there — much longer than I planned.
If you’re visiting Amsterdam and want something that complements the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum rather than competing with them, Moco is it. It’s vibrant, thought-provoking, and surprisingly emotional. I left wanting to come back.
Don’t skip it.

We had a great experience at the Moco Museum! Unlike other museums, it was modern, fun, and very easy to enjoy. The artworks were unique and engaging, especially the pieces by Banksy and other contemporary artists.
The museum is well organized, and the explanations are clear and accessible, which made the visit much more enjoyable. It’s not too big, so you can explore everything comfortably without feeling overwhelmed.
Overall, it was definitely worth the visit and the price. I would highly recommend it if you’re looking for something different, trendy, and interesting.
