The building looks amazing. Very easily accessible and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A lot of artwork to see an everything is divided into logical sections according to different periods and origins of art.

A great experience with our guide Gauthier! We wanted to visit Anne Franck's house, but for lack of space, we found this guided tour of the Jewish quarter, and frankly, no regrets! We were able to get a lot of explanations, on a side we're not used to with accounts of the war in France, and it was really great to have this other version! We really loved it, and a huge bonus point for Gauthier, who was really great, and exceeded the time initially planned. A very big thank you for this visit!

Fantastic building and exhibition. Love to visit again. So many items and wide range of historic eras. A whole day is barely enough.

  • Follow your guide: Stay with the group so you don’t disrupt the route or delay stops.
  • Be mindful of photos: Only take pictures where permitted and avoid photographing private homes.
  • Stay on pavements: Walk on designated paths and avoid stepping onto bike lanes, which are busy and fast-moving.

  • Mind the bike lanes: Amsterdam’s bikes move fast so check for cyclists before stepping aside during stops.
  • Check weather patterns: Jordaan streets feel colder with canal winds so layering helps you stay comfortable throughout.
  • Pack small snacks: Food stops are limited along the route, so bring something to avoid getting hungry during the tour.
  • Ask questions wisely: Ask your guide during transitions between stops to keep sensitive storytelling moments uninterrupted.
  • Keep devices muted: Extra alerts can break group focus especially when listening to stories tied to specific homes.
  • Photograph discreetly: Homes on the route are lived in so angle shots away from windows for privacy.
  • Note key landmarks: Mark important streets on your map to revisit quietly later without retracing the whole tour.
  • Carry light essentials: A compact bag makes narrow Jordaan alleys easier to navigate without brushing past residents.
